All revenue from the site is split 50/50. Half to Soundstripe, Half to our partner composers. Your pay is calculated in two ways. First, The pool of subscription money gets worked out into an algorithm that calculates how many users we have and how many tracks they downloaded overall that month. This gives us a "Price Per Download" Each month. You get paid for your tracks that are downloaded during each month. The more downloads, the more you get paid.
The second way you get paid is a “bonus pay”. Some of our users go a whole month without downloading a single track. This pool of unused funds gets divided evenly amongst all our partner composers. Basically, you get a little bump just for being apart.
As the Soundstripe user base grows, the price per download increases.
We send payments on the 15th of every month through a free service called Dwolla. For new composers, upon your first payout, you will receive an email prompting you to sign up for a free account to receive your money unless your bank is located outside of the USA. If you are outside the United States you will be contacted by our staff and paid via PayPal each month.
